Hi,

Once I integrate the wordpress into joomla like you suggest (as an external link) - how would I make the "headlines" or recent entries from my blog page appear on on my Joomla front page? In other words, i want to create a small frame on my main page that contains recent blog post headings only and users can click on that and it will take you to the main blog page. I notice you did this on yoru web site and some of the other sample sites also have this. Is this difficult to do / requires a lot of hacking ?
Thanks so much for the great post and your help in understanding this.

I am not the most experienced in either Joomla or Wordpress however I have the time to invest to get the result I want. I am going to make a fun for all site with polls, games, and a lot of things.
Terrific tutorial. Getting everything to work wasn't easy by any means, but definitely beats the alternative of designing a custom template to match an existing site, for someone like me who's never built a template. Many thanks.

I ran a Joomla site for a year and gave up - it was so fiddly and frustrating. I switched the site to Wordpress, which is so much easier and, in my view, more flexible. Also, software upgrades were a nightmare whereas they are completely painless now in Wordpress. I am in the process of migrating my corporate site to Wordpress and my blog has always been on Wordpress. Unless you have a very specific reason for using Joomla - and I can't really see what it might be - use Wordpress.

I tried this but have run into a bit of a problem. I emailed you about it but I did want to say that I think that the presentation of the tutorial and your helpful responses to users is commendable. I hope that I( can get this straightened out but regardless, I am impressed.

Thanks.

This is a very good tutorial, but you should translate it to other languages, also the video tutorial, I think. The support is very good.

I've tried following this and the accompanying text tutorial several times now and invariably end up with a blank white page once I've uploaded the header, footer, and index files. When I view the page's source, it's also blank. Any suggestions?

David, I am sure it's not that you are doing anything wrong. I had to edit my sidebar.php file to show what I wanted/didn't want. However, the easy way is to log into your wordpress admin control panel and click on 'Widgets' under 'Appearance', which is on the left. From there you can drag which widget you want onto your sidebar to activate/deactivate them.

Hope that helps,
Tracy
